Platform Engineer
EngineeringRemoteFull-time
About Easel
Easel is a globally distributed PaaS with Vercel/Netlify-style developer experience, without hyperscaler lock-in or vendor games. We're building real infrastructure, not a thin wrapper. This role is for engineers who want to own the stack.
About the role
You'll work on core platform systems: how deploys run, how traffic reaches the edge, how we meter usage, and how we keep everything observable and reliable as we grow.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain deploy pipelines, edge routing, and platform APIs
- Improve reliability, observability, and incident response across the stack
- Integrate billing, auth, and third-party services with clear boundaries
- Collaborate on architecture decisions with direct impact on customers
- Write code you're proud of, with tests, docs, and operational runbooks included
You might thrive if you
- Strong backend experience in Go, Rust, or TypeScript/Node at scale
- You've operated production systems with on-call experience, SLO thinking, and blameless postmortems
- Curious about edge networks, CDNs, containers, or serverless execution models
- Bonus: Kubernetes, Postgres, or usage-based metering experience
What we offer
- Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity
- Remote-first with ownership of substantial systems
- Modern tooling and minimal process overhead
- Hard infrastructure problems with a small team that ships
