Environment variables in the dashboard

Sean DubbFounder, Easel.sh

You can manage environment variables from project settings. Values inject into builds and runtime with last-updater tracking so you know who changed a key.

Managing keys

Open Project settings → Environment Variables to add, edit, or remove keys for Production, Preview, and Development. Scope a variable to the environments that need it so preview deploys don’t pick up production secrets by accident.

Each change records who last updated the variable. That audit trail helps when several people share a workspace.

How injection works

Easel injects variables into the build sandbox and the function runtime using a hardened path. Your app reads them as standard process environment values; you don’t mount secrets from the client.

Redeploy after changing production values so running instances pick up the new set. Preview deploys on the next push use the Preview-scoped map automatically.
